3 New Product Launches from Superior Industries

Superior Industries, Inc., the US-based manufacturer and global supplier of bulk material processing and handling systems is thrilled to announce the launch of three new products.

The first of these introductions is the version 14.0 of its TeleStacker Conveyor PilePro™ Automation program. This latest edition brings significant enhancements to user interface and functionality.

Among the notable changes is the introduction of an updated touch screen boasting a higher resolution to enhance visibility in outdoor settings. Additionally, the screen’s protective housing has been fortified to withstand fluctuations in temperature more effectively, ensuring great performance in various conditions.

Also new, each screen is now loaded with an on-demand view of the owner’s manual. A PDF viewer provides screen-specific instructions from the owner’s manual for each step in the automation user experience.

The upgraded technology applies to all new TeleStacker Conveyors effective March 1, 2024.

Next in “what’s new” from Superior is another advancement in its lineup of Guardian® Horizontal Screens with a brand-new heavy duty scalping model.

The new HD scalping screen handles a maximum feed size of 18-inches (457mm). This surpasses its medium-duty predecessor, which maxes out at 14-inches (355mm).

The HD screen is equipped with a perforated top deck, or punch plate, made of heavy-duty 3/4-inch AR steel. A slight slope facilitates the movement of feed material for efficient screening.

Superior manufactures more than a dozen models of its popular Guardian Horizontal Screen series in Columbus, Nebraska, one of its four American manufacturing facilities. Horizontal screens are available in two, three, or four-deck configurations and footprints from 5×16 to 8×20.

Also announced by Superior Industries is the most significant redesign to conveyor idlers in decades. This update is backed by a substantial $4.5 million investment in cutting-edge idler manufacturing equipment at its American production locations.

According to Superior Industries, a uniquely vertically-integrated manufacturer of conveying equipment and components, these are the key innovations of the new idler design:

Ironclad Weld Joint at Tube to End Disc

  • Flush end disc prevents material entrapment between roll and frame.
  • Weld bead is securely housed within the roll’s structure, ensuring added durability.
  • Modern, robotic welding for greater weld penetration and extreme consistency.

Revamped Designs of Idler Bearing Seals

  • A decade of rigorous testing results in an unmatched bearing protection system.
  • Lifespan of standard bearing seals surpasses all other models tested.
  • Premium Titanium® Seal provides extended longevity for demanding applications.

Major Upgrade to Idler Manufacturing

  • Improving industry-leading pace, Superior achieves new heights in manufacturing speed.
  • Manufacturing production rate of standard and custom idlers sees 35% increase.
  • Integration of robotic manufacturing ensures a level of consistency previously unseen.

“Tens of thousands of Superior idlers are installed on our own conveyors every year, so roll performance really, really matters,” emphasizes Jason Adams, president of Superior. “The new idler exceeds our own high performance standards and we’re excited for other conveyor owners and operators to benefit from this upgrade.”
